Seth Green Says He and Mike Myers Discussed the Possibility of a Dr. Evil Spin-Off Trilogy

Approximately two decades have elapsed since Seth Green last portrayed Dr. Evil’s son, Scott, on the big screen in the Austin Powers series. There are whispers that a fourth movie could be underway. Green himself seems optimistic about another film, expressing this sentiment after the positive response to a General Motors advertisement during Super Bowl 2022.

Green expressed, “It seems equally likely, which is surprising given our Super Bowl commercial from a few years back sparked optimism among viewers who thought it worked perfectly. However, even now, I sense there’s still potential left unexplored. When Mike worked on The Pentaverate, we briefly discussed the idea of not making a direct sequel, but Mike proposed an intriguing notion – similar to how there was an Austin Powers trilogy, could there be a Dr. Evil trilogy?

The notion of another Austin Powers movie has been floated before. A few years ago, Mike Myers, who portrayed both Austin Powers and Dr. Evil, hinted at the potential for a fourth installment. “I neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not,” Myers said. “But I’d be thrilled about it.

Director Jay Roach hinted at the possibility of another film in the series, saying, “I’d never completely rule it out… I’m always ready for whatever Mike Myers proposes. However, it hinges on Mike coming up with something he’s truly passionate about, and so far, we haven’t quite found that perfect idea yet after all these years.

There’s been discussion about a potential movie revolving around Dr. Evil as the main character. In the third film, Goldmember, it was uncovered that Dr. Evil is actually Austin’s brother, named Dougie. Their father, Nigel, thought only Austin had survived after a car accident they experienced in their youth.

Growing up under the care of Belgians shaped Dougie into Dr. Evil, leading a series of events that ultimately reunited him with his brother, Austin. However, this revelation infuriated Scott Evil, causing him to assume his father’s position and seek retribution against Austin.
