Scott Shooman, the head of AMC Networks’ film unit, commended the initial film for introducing novel concepts to the horror genre, and he looked forward to amplifying Johnny’s menace in the upcoming sequel. According to Shooman, “In the sequel, our goal is to demonstrate that Johnny can become even more imposing, and his killings can only grow more breathtaking.”
According to producer Peter Kuplowsky, the film “In a Violent Nature” was planned as part of a bigger fictional slasher series from the get-go. He’s thrilled to carry on Johnny’s tale and expresses gratitude towards IFC Films and Shudder for their backing. Together with Shannon Hammer, Kuplowsky will produce the sequel.
Chris Nash, the original writer-director of the first film, is set to pen the script for the sequel. However, it remains undecided if he will also take on the director’s role again. Emily Gotto, Nicholas Lazo, and Samuel Zimmerman will be in charge of the project at Shudder.

Debuted in May, this IFC Films production continues to draw crowds in cinemas and on demand platforms, ranking among their top ten highest-earning titles.
On September 13, Shudder will begin streaming the film “In a Violent Nature.” According to the synopsis, this chilling production takes us into the depths of the wilderness, unleashing an awakened horror among the undead. The perspective shifts in “Violent Nature,” offering a unique take on slasher movies by allowing viewers to experience the carnage through the monster’s perspective.
