Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, who married in 2025 and quickly became a beloved couple, have been open about their desire to start a family. On a recent episode of the ‘Friends Keep Secrets’ podcast – co-hosted by Blanco and his friend Lil Dicky (Dave Burd) – Gomez discussed her and her husband’s plans for having children.
Selena Gomez expresses wish to have four kids of her own
Lil Dicky and his wife, Kristin Batalucco, have different ideas about how many children they want – he’s thinking up to two, while she’d prefer three. Kristin revealed she actually envisions having four children, inspired by a scene with Diane Keaton in the movie The Family Stone. Watching that scene reminded her of her grandmother, and she pictured having a large, lively dinner table like the one in the film, which she described as both sweet and sad. She wants to recreate that same warm family atmosphere when she’s older.
She understands her hopes might not come true, but she’s trying to stay positive. She said, “Whatever will be, will be. If we can only have one [child], then none at all.” She’s dreaming of a future scene where everyone is gathered around a dinner table with their loved ones – partners, kids, or even happily single – creating a beautiful and diverse group. She also jokingly predicted that raising kids would be ‘absolutely wild’ until they grow up.
The couple has often said they want to have children, and Benny Blanco has mentioned enjoying being an uncle and hoping to become a father someday. They married on September 27, 2025, with guests including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Paul Rudd, and his ‘Only Murders in the Building’ co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
