At the debut of Rare Beauty’s first Eau de Parfum, Selena Gomez, the celebrity behind both singing and acting, as well as the brand’s founder, had a thrilling evening on Thursday (August 7) in Santa Monica, California, at the old post office. Her enthusiasm was evident when she encountered the cast of Love Island USA’s seventh season for the first time.

The event marked the introduction of Rare Beauty’s first perfume, Rare Eau de Parfum, now accessible online. At the occasion, Gomez donned a stunning mother-of-pearl gown by Cult Gaia, featuring a halter neckline, open back, and cascading fringes. To finish off her ensemble, she wore shoes and accessories from both Cult Gaia and Melinda Maria, as reported by PEOPLE.
The launch of the new fragrance drew not only interest in the product but also the glamour of celebrity attendees. The Love Island USA cast members such as Nicolas Vansteenberghe, Olandria Carthen, Ace Greene, Iris Kendall, Chelley Bissainthe, Pepe Garcia, and Hannah Fields graced the event. Some of them even made a late appearance following their participation in a Variety event earlier that evening.
Who was missing from the party?
At the recent event, some beloved contestants were in attendance, but Amaya Espinal (also known as Amaya Papaya) and Bryan Arenales, previous winners of Love Island USA, were not seen. Earlier in the week, however, a TikTok video emerged showing Espinal interacting with Gomez where they both seemed delighted to have finally met each other in person, with Gomez spraying a new fragrance for the occasion.
Among many things filling up Gomez’s calendar, the launch of Rare Beauty is one of them. She’s been busy planning her wedding with fiancé Benny Blanco, as well as working on the new season of Only Murders in the Building. Despite this packed schedule, she found time for a romantic outing with Blanco earlier in the week. The lovebirds attended a cooking class in Century City, where Gomez donned Jacquemus flared denim capris and stylish kitten heels.
