As a long-time MCU fan and one who has witnessed the evolution of Bucky Barnes from Steve Rogers’ loyal friend to the Winter Soldier, I am beyond excited for his return in the upcoming Thunderbolts! The enigmatic allure of this anti-hero has always kept me on the edge of my seat, and his redemption arc is one of the most compelling storylines in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As a diehard fan, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) project, Thunderbolts, set to hit the screens next year! This film promises to be another thrilling addition to the MCU, and there are numerous reasons why fans should be buzzing with anticipation. The movie will introduce a fresh, motley crew of characters, reminiscent of DC’s Suicide Squad, bringing a unique blend of action, drama, and humor to the table.
Furthermore, the upcoming film introduces Marvel’s strongest superhero, Sentry. Characters from the MCU’s roster of anti-heroes and once-villains will make their comeback too, with Sebastian Stan returning to portray Bucky Barnes, a fan favorite known as The Winter Soldier.
In the heat of World War II, I made my debut as Steve Rogers’ most trusted comrade and fellow soldier. Together, we stood side by side, with me playing a crucial role in shaping him into the iconic figure known as Captain America. Tragically, during one joint mission with Steve, Hydra captured me, leaving many to believe that I had perished.
Eventually, it’s exposed that Bucky had fallen under Hydra’s control and transformed into a lethal assassin. Luckily, due to Rogers’ steadfast devotion, most of the harm was reversed, paving the way for one of the most gripping redemption stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With Stan set to return to his character in the upcoming Thunderbolts, a group famous for their rule-bending antics, spectators can’t help but wonder if we might witness Bucky Barnes slipping back into his Winter Soldier identity once more.
Lately, Stan made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to publicize his upcoming movie, titled “The Apprentice“. In this production, he plays a younger version of Donald Trump. During the conversation, he was inquired if viewers might look forward to seeing him reprise his roles as Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier.
User: Kimmel asks, “I have one query for you. At the end of the trailer, there’s a scene where you’re holding a gun and firing at other characters. So, are you Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier in that particular moment?”
Stan: I believe it’s a mix of both. Frankly, this collection is quite unusual. When discussing the film, we often compare it to ‘St. Elmo’s Fire,’ or another fantastic movie by John Hughes, which momentarily escapes me at the moment.
As a gamer, I find myself in the most peculiar team-up. We gather, fingers poised over our keys, hoping to avoid mutual elimination. In the heat of the moment, it’s a race to stay alive, but sometimes, I wonder if I won’t be the one biting the dust first.
Based on the kind of movie it is, we’re confident that Stan will definitely bring out the characteristics of both characters.
