Sebastian Stan recently talked about his new black comedy-psychological thriller, A Different Man, on The Today Show. He also shared insights into how he prepared for his portrayal of Donald Trump in the movie The Apprentice, stating, “I attempted to rest, but that didn’t happen.
The performer stated that extensive research and numerous videos, documentaries, news broadcasts, and other media sources are accessible, each providing a comprehensive account of how Donald Trump evolved into the public figure we recognize now.
Stan shared that his experience was all about persistent training, expressing it as, “For me, it’s similar to mastering a musical instrument. If you play the piano regularly, you gradually improve, until one day, you can almost perform effortlessly, as if you were doing it in your sleep.
The movie’s official summary suggests that it portrays a young Donald Trump, eager to make a name for himself as the ambitious second son of a wealthy 1970s New York family. During this time, he comes under the influence of Roy Cohn, a ruthless lawyer who played a significant role in shaping the Donald Trump we recognize today.
Previously, Stan shared with The Hollywood Reporter his desire to join the project as he admired Abbasi’s courage in tackling an uncomfortable topic. He expressed, “The events depicted in this film are real. Additionally, the actor confided in the press that the role preparation was demanding because of numerous filming postponements, causing him to repeatedly initiate and halt his study process. Sebastian Stan expressed, “Finding the appropriate prosthetics proved challenging. During a trial, I remember feeling quite apprehensive, even saying, ‘I believe we might not make it’ due to how unappealing the prosthetics appeared. This was just a few days before we started shooting.
