Sebastian Stan in Talks to Join THE BATMAN PART II

Despite knowing very little about the upcoming movie, Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II is assembling a remarkable cast around Robert Pattinson as Batman. Last year, Scarlett Johansson was confirmed for an unknown role, and now, according to Deadline, Sebastian Stan – who starred alongside Johansson in Captain America: The Winter Soldier – is in discussions to join the film as well.

We don’t know yet who Stan will play in the movie, but we have a couple of strong guesses. One possibility is Dr. Thomas Elliot, a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne who also experienced a difficult past. If rumors about the script are true, Stan would be a great fit for the role – and he physically resembles Robert Pattinson, which could work well. Another likely candidate is Harvey Dent, the Gotham City District Attorney. This idea comes from speculation that Johansson might be cast as Gilda Gold, Harvey’s wife, who is a key character in the The Long Halloween storyline.

It’s possible Stan is portraying a completely different character. But considering the sequel to The Batman will feature a villain never before seen in a live-action movie, and if Stan is indeed playing a villain, the choices are fairly limited. Harvey Dent or Thomas Elliot, both characters with strong dark streaks, might feel too predictable for an actor who’s spent nearly fifteen years playing the complex Bucky Barnes.

Here’s something I’ve been thinking about: with Sebastian Stan seemingly set up as a leader in the new Avengers, and with a role already confirmed in Doomsday, I’m starting to wonder how feasible it is for him to also appear in The Batman Part II. Those movies are coming out so close together – Batman Part II in October 2027 and Secret Wars in December 2027 – that it feels like a really tight schedule for filming. Honestly, I’m not sure how he’d pull off both, and it’s got me wondering if something might have to give. It’s a mystery for now!
