According to a document acquired by TMZ on Thursday, March 13, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team claims that CNN deleted the initial video footage of the rapper striking his former girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel corridor.
The claim stated that CNN obtained the single available recording of the hotel’s CCTV footage, edited this video using freely accessible editing tools, made changes to it, and subsequently discarded the initial, unaltered footage.
In addition to their other arguments, the defense lawyers claimed that CNN manipulated the videos they aired. Specifically, they covered the timestamps and rearranged the video order. Moreover, the court filing asserts that CNN sped up the footage to give the impression that events were happening faster than they truly did.
They argued that the video did not fairly or accurately depict the alleged attack.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself compelled to share some recent insights. Last Thursday, a situation unfolded where CNN had to address certain accusations. In response, they chose to clarify their stance via TMZ. They defended themselves by stating that unlike what was suggested, they did not destroy the original piece, instead, it has been preserved in the hands of the source.
Months prior to Diddy’s arrest, CNN broadcasted a news story regarding the video, as they explained in their defense. Yet, Diddy’s legal team continued to stand by their accusations.
In May 2024, a video that surfaced online depicted the infamous rapper assaulting his girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, which was captured by a hotel security camera back in 2016. The clip gained widespread attention after CNN broadcasted it following their acquisition of the footage.
At the time, Diddy took to social media to apologize for his actions.
He shared in an Instagram post that it can be challenging to ponder over the toughest moments in life, yet it’s necessary sometimes, he emphasized. The musician acknowledged feeling distressed when the event took place, but he deemed his behavior as unforgivable.
As a die-hard fan, it’s heart-wrenching to say that I find myself in a situation where I must discuss the legal troubles of my idol, Diddy. Currently, he’s facing federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, conspiracy, and transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution. This shocking news hit us all in September 2024. However, he has vehemently denied these allegations, maintaining his innocence. The much-anticipated trial is scheduled to commence on May 5, 2025. I, along with countless others, eagerly await the outcome and hope for justice to prevail in this complex case.
