Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of sexual harassment, rape, and human trafficking.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is preparing to stand before a jury on May 5 for his upcoming federal trial. The renowned rapper is facing accusations of sexual assault, human trafficking, and rape, which have been brought forth by his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. As the court date approaches, it’s been reported that Combs has enlisted Linda Moreno, a jury consultant, as part of his legal team in anticipation of the upcoming legal battle.
On Monday, Moreno will assist Combs’ legal team in identifying potential jurors for the upcoming hearing. Known for his exceptional work, this consultant has previously taken part in significant cases, such as the 2005 trial of Sami Al-Arian where he helped convict a college professor on terrorism-related charges.
With Moreno’s involvement, the case garnered national interest, and her abilities were praised for dissecting the personalities of each juror. As the legality of the defense team’s moves is scrutinized, media outlets indicate that their actions are entirely within the law.
The involvement of Moreno caused the case to be noticed nationwide and her talents were commended for analyzing each juror’s personality. While the lawyer’s defense team’s actions are being reviewed, reports show that what they did was completely legal.)
Over a decade spanning from 2004 to 2014, the rapper has been accused and is currently dealing with three federal allegations related to inappropriate involvement with women and human trafficking.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that P. Diddy’s former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, has made accusations against him, claiming he committed rape and assault during their relationship. A video was also shared online, depicting Combs kicking and pulling Ventura through a hotel lobby.
Prior to the upcoming trial, Diddy opted against a plea bargain that would have reduced his potential prison time if convicted. The jury selection process is set to conclude by the end of this week, with the trial itself scheduled to begin on May 12.
