Sean Bean’s Shocking Transformation into a Liverpool Gangster Revealed!

The upcoming BBC One crime drama, titled ‘This City Belongs to Us’, unfolds in the heart of Liverpool. This eight-part series is the brainchild of Stephen Butchard and is brought to life by Left Bank Pictures.

It’s official! Sean Bean will take on the main role, joined by James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Onslow, and Laura Aikman in the cast. Production kicked off in May 2024, with filming taking place in places such as Liverpool and Spain.

‘Our City’: The narrative unfolds around Michael, an experienced figure within the underworld of organized crime, who finds himself unexpectedly smitten by a woman called Diana. This affection stirs doubts about his life decisions and sparks thoughts of abandoning his criminal history to pursue a more promising future.

Yet, his affection for Diana presents a complex predicament, for it stirs him to transform and simultaneously jeopardizes them both, thus making his love an influential force that could either inspire or endanger them.

Initially released photos depict Sean Bean taking on the character of a Liverpool gangster. These snapshots, provided to LADbible by the BBC, spotlight Bean alongside an impressive ensemble, including James Nelson Joyce, Hannah Onslow, Julie Graham, and Laura Aikman – famed for her role in ‘Gavin & Stacey.’

The images offer viewers a peek at Bean’s changeover for the show, which is based in the rough environment of organized crime in Liverpool.

As of now, we don’t have a specific air date for the upcoming show, but you can expect to see it on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom during the spring season. For viewers outside the UK, Sony will be responsible for distributing the show internationally.
