The new trailer mostly shows footage we’ve already seen, so we’re expecting a more substantial one soon. One particularly unsettling image shows a girl’s body hanging in what looks like a theater, which feels like a reference to the final scene in Scream 2, where a similar scene played out with Sidney’s boyfriend. The Scream franchise also featured a major showdown in a movie theater in Scream VI.
Sidney and Gale discuss the new killings, realizing the killer has been planning this for years and is targeting people the same age Sidney was during the first attacks. Meanwhile, we see Ghostface and hear a voice eerily similar to Stu Macher’s, hinting at the trouble to come with the line, “this is gonna be fun.” It’s definitely a scary situation.
The new trailer for Scream 7 announces that tickets will be available starting February 9th, giving fans a chance to see Sidney Prescott confront Ghostface again this month. There will be special fan screenings on opening night, and for the first time ever, Scream 7 will be released in IMAX in certain locations! This is exciting news for a franchise that continues to be popular.
