Scorpions Drummer Mikkey Dee Shares Health Update After Getting Discharged From Hospital; READ

Mikkey Dee, known for his work with Scorpions as well as being the former drummer for Motorhead, has just given a health update.

Mikkey Dee disclosed in a shocking statement on January 2, 2025, that he had spent three weeks in the hospital due to his recent illness. In this update, shared on Facebook, the drummer revealed he was diagnosed with sepsis. To begin with, he expressed gratitude to those who wished him well over the Christmas and New Year holidays, as he was unable to respond at the time.

The Swedish artist went on to say, “During the festive period, I’ve been battling a severe blood infection known as sepsis in the hospital. I stayed there for about three weeks, but now I’m back home, waging war against this stubborn bacterium.

Expressing gratitude towards the staff at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in his hometown, Gothenburg, musician Mikkey Dee acknowledged that he received “outstanding treatment.” Despite having a long road ahead with “recovery and rehabilitation,” Dee remains optimistic about 2025.

As a devoted drummer, I am giving my all to reclaim my spot on the drum stool for our upcoming Residency. Notably, the Scorpions will be marking their 60th year in 2025.

Earlier, Dee revealed to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that he contracted Sepsis after sustaining an ankle injury. He described his ankle as having become significantly swollen and taking on a peculiar form resembling an “overcooked ham.

After falling ill due to an infection, the drummer required transportation via an ambulance to the hospital. According to Dee, his condition was critical with exceptionally high readings, classifying him as a top-priority patient. Medical staff took necessary measures and intervened as needed, added Mikkey Dee.

Reflecting on his hospital stay, Mikkey Dee expressed, “That wasn’t a pleasant road I traveled… If another day had passed, I would have been drumming alongside Lemmy [Kilmister, the late Motörhead lead singer] in heaven instead. That much is true.

In late February, the ex-drummer from Motorhead is set to launch a Las Vegas residency alongside Scorpions.
