The latest installment of the Scary Movie series is coming soon, and it’s already playfully mocking one of the year’s biggest hits. A new teaser trailer reveals the comedy franchise is targeting Sinners, a film that’s been hugely popular and has received numerous awards this season.
Marlon Wayans posted a teaser on Instagram, promising more laughs to come. He congratulated the cast and crew of ‘Sinners’ on their Oscar wins and suggested a parody of the film is on its way, stating, “This won’t be the last you see of Sinners this year.”
The latest installment in the popular movie series will be released in theaters on June 5th by Paramount. The film features the return of original cast members Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall, who will once again poke fun at horror movies and current trends. Expect the movie to playfully critique everything from reboots of old favorites to sequels that just keep going.

The movie brings back familiar faces like Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams. It also features a lot of new actors, adding to the cast and maintaining the fun, unpredictable spirit of the series.
Michael Tiddes, known for directing A Haunted House, directed the movie. The screenplay was a collaborative effort by Marlon and Shawn Wayans, along with original director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans, and Rick Alvarez.
The Scary Movie series started in 2000 and quickly gained a reputation for its wild, exaggerated humor and spoofs of horror films. Although the Wayans brothers stopped working on the movies after the second one, the series continued with several more installments. Now that the original creators are involved again, fans are hoping the new film will recapture the spirit of the early Scary Movie films.
This new installment seems poised to challenge not only horror films, but the widespread practice of Hollywood relying on remakes and reboots.
