This clip originally appeared in movie theaters, playing before the release of Scream 7. Considering Scream was the inspiration for Scary Movie, it makes sense! The trailer directly references Scream VI, specifically the memorable scene with Mindy Meeks-Martin on the subway surrounded by people in costumes – a really well-done sequence.
As a horror fan, I was loving the cameos in the trailer for Scary Movie (2026)! They showed Leatherface, the guy from Heart Eyes, and even M3GAN doing a little dance. Then M3GAN takes off her mask and it’s Ghostface! Seriously, it’s joke after joke, parodying everything. They’re going after all the big horror hits – Weapons, Smile, Get Out – and I can’t wait to see all the fun they have with them.
What Is the Release Date for Scary Movie?
It’s great to have the original stars of Scary Movie back, like Regina Hall and Anna Faris, along with Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans. They’re all returning to play their iconic characters: Brenda, Cindy, Shorty, and Ray.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer for the next installment! Scary Movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 12th, and the trailer suggests it will be hilarious from start to finish.
