On the recent Weekend Update segment of Saturday Night Live, Colin Jost, who is married to Scarlett Johansson, jokingly compared Blake Lively’s beef with Justin Baldoni to the political drama between Trump and Zelenskyy.
Jost frequently delivers witty and memorable jokes during his live broadcasts, covering topics like himself, his loved ones, or current popular trends. Given the widespread buzz surrounding the “It Ends With Us” court case, it was only a matter of time before it piqued Jost’s interest.
A humorist drew a parallel between Donald Trump’s recent conflict with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the legal drama starring Lively and Baldoni. Jost mentioned Zelenskyy’s favorable remarks about mending relations with Trump following an unexpected dismissal from the White House.
I find myself drawing an analogy, just like Baldoni desiring to work with Lively once more. In both situations, the prospect of a reunion seemed distant and unlikely.
In a playful manner, Jost quipped, “Zelenskyy was requested to depart from the White House. Later, he showed up on Fox News and expressed hope that he could still repair his bond with President Trump, much like Justin Baldoni stating, ‘I’d be thrilled to collaborate with Blake once more.’
For those not in the know, the tension between Trump and Zelenskyy reached its peak on February 28, as their White House meeting was abruptly ended. Trump is said to have prematurely ended their discussion and subsequently accused Zelenskyy of risking a potential World War III.
Jost’s sense of humor is linked to the drama that arose from the on-screen partnership of Justin Baldoni, Blake Lively, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, who were once married to Jost’s ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson.
In December 2024, Lively initiated a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment, inappropriate conduct at work, and masterminding an effort to tarnish her image. As a counteraction, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against both Lively and her spouse, Reynolds, for making false claims. This legal spat has since escalated into multiple lawsuits and additional disclosures, with the drama continuing to unravel further into more legal turmoil.
