Scarlett Johansson May Join Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN – PART II

I’m so excited! It feels like forever, but it looks like Matt Reeves is finally starting to film The Batman – Part II! And now, the news is getting even better – apparently Scarlett Johansson is joining Robert Pattinson in the sequel! Deadline is reporting she’s leaving Marvel to play a role in the DC universe, which is huge. We don’t know who she’ll be playing yet, but Gotham City has so many amazing female characters, and I can’t wait to see who she brings to life.

Scarlett Johansson has a busy schedule! She’s starting with Mike Flanagan’s new take on The Exorcist, then moving on to The Batman – Part II. With her success in Marvel movies and Jurassic World, Johansson is a major star. But Batman fans are curious about what role she’ll play, since Zoe Kravitz already plays Catwoman. Many believe she’ll portray Poison Ivy, the eco-terrorist, Pamela Isley. After playing the red-haired hero Black Widow, taking on another iconic red-haired character—this time a villain—could be a great fit.

Matt Reeves’ take on Batman is more realistic, so it’s unlikely we’ll see Poison Ivy controlling massive, dangerous plants. If she appears in his films, she’d probably be someone who uses plants to make poisons. There’s also speculation she could play Vicki Vale, a classic character with a connection to Batman, or even a crime-fighting partner like the Huntress or Batwoman. Alternatively, she might be a completely new character. We’ll find out when The Batman – Part II comes out on October 1, 2027.
