Sam Fisher Returns in First Teaser for Tom Clancy’s ‘Splinter Cell: Deathwatch’

I’m thrilled to announce that I, as a supporter, am happy to confirm that Sam Fisher is making his grand return! Just recently, Netflix unveiled the initial teaser for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, giving us enthusiasts our first glimpse at the animated adaptation of Ubisoft’s beloved stealth series. This production is being handled by Ubisoft Film & Television and will premiere on October 14, 2025.

The show is spearheaded by Derek Kolstad, famed for creating the action-packed film “John Wick,” who takes on the role of lead writer and executive producer. Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage are at the helm as directors, while Sun Creature Studio and French studio Fost are managing the animation aspect.

Sam Fisher, the renowned character from the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series, is set to return on October 14th. This latest installment, titled “TOM CLANCY’S SPLINTER CELL: DEATHWATCH,” hails from the writer of the John Wick franchise. Featuring Liev Schreiber and Kirby Howell-Baptiste in starring roles.

Liev Schreiber is set to lend his voice to Sam Fisher, a seasoned leader of Fourth Echelon, a secretive U.S. government team skilled in counter-terrorism and stealth missions. Meanwhile, Janet Varney will bring Anna “Grim” Grímsdóttir to life, a tech-savvy ally of Fisher who oversees the group’s operations. Additionally, Kirby and Joel Oulette are joining the cast as characters Zinnia McKenna and Thunder, respectively.

In July 2020, Netflix and Ubisoft initially revealed plans to create an animated series from the Splinter Cell universe. Initially, it was said that the project had already secured a two-season commission. However, later on, writer Derek Kolstad confirmed that only one season has been officially given the go-ahead.

Additionally, he also cautioned fans that they’d have to wait a few years for the series to come out, and as it happens, this prediction has proven accurate.

In August 2024, Michael Ironside, known for his voice role as Fisher in the video games, clarified why he wouldn’t reprise his character. He stated, “I’m simply too old to embody the character for television,” and subsequently confirmed that Liev Schreiber had assumed the role instead. Netflix unveiled this casting change with a sneak peek at the series in September 2024.

With the trailer now released, viewers get a glimpse of the fresh take on Sam Fisher’s appearance and voice as he takes action in the upcoming series “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch”, set to premiere globally on Netflix on October 14, 2025.
