Sabrina Carpenter Teases Taste Music Video Featuring Jenna Ortega, Seemingly Inspired By Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 Horror Film Psycho; WATCH

As a dedicated fan of both Sabrina Carpenter and Jenna Ortega, I am absolutely thrilled about their upcoming collaboration in the music video for “Taste.” The teaser alone has piqued my curiosity and left me eagerly anticipating the full release.

Following the release of two highly successful singles, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” from her upcoming album titled “Short n’ Sweet (due August 23), Sabrina Carpenter recently previewed a sneak peek of the music video for her third song, “Taste,” which features Jenna Ortega, on Wednesday, August 21.

In a 16-second video clip posted on social media, Carpenter is depicted reaching for a knife from a pile of weapons on a bed. She subsequently makes her way into a grand mansion’s foyer and ascends to the bathroom. Upon arrival, she discovers Ortega, the actress known for her role in Wednesday, along with another Disney Channel veteran, intimately involved with a man under the shower. In response, Carpenter rushes towards Ortega brandishing the knife as terror grips her eyes.

Sabrina is co-responsible for composing ‘Taste’, joined by Julia Michaels and Amy Allen in this role. The track was produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and John Ryan, while the music video was helmed by Dave Meyers, who made clear references to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 horror movie Psycho in his direction.

On the track, as reported by Paper Magazine, she sings, “I’m often the one who gives,” but in a more personal way, it translates to, “You’ll need to experience me when he’s kissing you.”

The 25-year-old pop star stated that she’s ready to compose any song, even one with a suggestive theme. She didn’t mention releasing it, but she will write it. She believes the hardships she’s experienced in her relationships are well-known to those close to her or who think they understand her.

As a seasoned music enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the eclectic tracklist for “Short n’ Sweet” piques my curiosity. With a diverse array of tracks ranging from the melodious “Good Graces” to the thought-provoking “Dumb & Poetic”, this album seems to offer a rich tapestry of sounds and emotions. I am particularly intrigued by the title, “Short n’ Sweet,” as it suggests a concise yet flavorful collection that promises not to disappoint. I can’t wait to delve into each track and uncover the hidden layers of meaning within the lyrics and melodies. This album seems destined to become a staple in my music rotation, and I eagerly anticipate its release.

1) Sabrina’s plans following her album release involve a North American tour promoting her LP. On the other hand, Jenna Ortega will appear in Beetlejuice 2 alongside Michael Keaton, Tim Burton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and others. The movie is slated to hit screens on September 6, approximately three decades after the initial cult favorite was unveiled.
