Sabrina Carpenter received a Best New Artist nomination for the 2025 Grammy Awards following a ten-year career. The pop sensation, who is now 25 years old, has already put out six albums, but it was her hit single Espresso and her latest release, Short n’ Sweet, that propelled her to greater success in 2024.
Despite being an experienced artist, Carpenter embraces the title of ‘new artist’ as the pinnacle of her career’s consistent growth. She attributes this achievement to many years of sticking to her artistic path, remaining faithful to her work, and maintaining belief in it from the very beginning.
In their letter to People magazine, the artist behind “Please, Please, Please” expressed that they’ve consistently stayed true to themselves and their work since childhood. They acknowledged that it was the gradual, incremental progress – one small step at a time – that ultimately led them to where they are now.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., elaborated on the criteria for the Best New Artist award. He explained that it doesn’t necessarily mean the artist has released their first album; in fact, it could be their sixth. However, he emphasized a sense of timing, suggesting that these artists have recently gained significant national recognition and are producing exceptional work.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but be thrilled about Sabrina Carpenter’s remarkable achievements at the Grammys. Beyond being nominated for Best New Artist, she has also been recognized in prestigious categories like Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. These nominations represent some of her lifelong dreams, a significant part of her career journey, and she humbly considers them as a profound honor.
