As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must commend Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively for their admirable approach to parenting. Having grown up in a working-class family myself, I can empathize with Reynolds’ sentiments about wanting to give his children a “normal” life, free from the trappings of celebrity status.
It’s common knowledge that the children of Hollywood stars often live quite differently and lavishly compared to other kids. Yet, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively seem to be focused on good parenting. The actor shared his thoughts on how they aim to provide a “regular” life for their four kids, despite being high-profile celebrities themselves.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds mentioned that they strive to provide their children with a regular, ordinary life. He also said he tries his best not to make them feel the distinction between their childhood and his or his wife’s upbringing.
The actor famous for playing Deadpool and Wolverine shared an insight about his upbringing, stating that he and his wife, Lively, were both raised in modest households. He reminisced about when his kids were young and often found himself reflecting on how, growing up, he never would have imagined having a gift like the convenience of takeout as something he could afford.
Later on, he discussed his understanding, “it’s not their responsibility to shoulder those burdens. They are deeply appreciative and aware enough about the world to possess a high level of compassion.
In a subsequent conversation, the actor who plays Green Lantern expressed that his children have shown signs of empathy, which gives him confidence in their parenting skills. Yet, he also noted that his children are developing quite distinctly from how he himself was raised as a child.
As a child, he often had to endure difficult situations and leave home early, returning only at sunset – a thought that seems unimaginable to him now, as this was something he shared with the outlet.
For those not in the know, a couple who played roles in “A Red Note” and “It Ends With Us,” share four kids: James, Inez, Betty, and Olin.
