Ryan Reynolds Shares PICS With Wesley Snipes Following His Cameo In Deadpool & Wolverine; Calls Him ‘Marvel Daddy’

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for pop culture and cinema history, I must say that the recent Marvel movie, featuring Deadpool & Wolverine, has been nothing short of a nostalgic delight. The cameo by Wesley Snipes as Blade, a character he last played in 2004, is a testament to the enduring legacy of these iconic characters.

The iconic appearance of Wesley Snipes as Deadpool and Wolverine’s counterpart, Blade, in the latest Marvel film has caused an uproar of applause and cheers in cinemas. Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, posted behind-the-scenes photos with Snipes on social media, expressing his gratitude for the actor’s contribution. Snipes is one of several high-profile cameos in the movie. Furthermore, he shares screen time with Henry Cavill, Chris Evans, Jennifer Garner, and Channing Tatum in various appearances.

Through his Instagram post, Reynolds shared that Snipes was instrumental in launching the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Additionally, he referred to Snipes affectionately as the “Marvel Patriarch” or “MCU’s Forefather.”

In the caption, Reynolds wrote, “There is no Fox Marvel Universe or MCU without Blade first creating a market.” He further added, “He is Marvel Daddy. Please share for a Logan-like send-off.” Snipes marked his return in the iconic suit after a decade, as the last appearance of the actor as a superhero was claimed to be in the 2004 film Blade: Trinity. The actor played the role of Hannibal King in the film.

In a chat with Variety, director Shawn Levy disclosed that Ryan Reynolds had proposed the concept for the cameos in Deadpool 3 much earlier on. Specifically, Levy mentioned that Reynolds had wanted Wesley Snipes to reprise his role as Blade from the beginning. Furthermore, Reynolds expressed a sentiment that Hannibal King, Snipes’ character from The Proposal, did not receive an ideal farewell in previous films.

In an interview with the news outlet, the filmmaker stated, “Wesley hasn’t portrayed Blade in quite some time, and he and Ryan have been out of regular contact for a long period. However, we made it clear to Wesley that our intention was not a joke but rather a tribute to his legacy as this renowned character.”

In 2025, you’ll see Wesley Snipes back on the big screen once more, as Marvel is planning a reboot of the Blade series. This exciting new installment is set to premiere in theaters on November 7, next year. At this time, the specifics about the plot and the cast are being kept secret.

Fans have eagerly watched the team-up of Deadpool and Wolverine, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, on screen. In this storyline, they join forces to combat the villainy of Cassandra Nova, with the help of characters like Snipes and others, who aid them in overcoming their challenges.

The Marvel movie is running successfully in theaters.
