As a seasoned gamer and movie buff who’s been following Ryan Reynolds‘ career since his “Blade: Trinity” days, I can’t help but have mixed feelings about his stint as Green Lantern. The film, despite initial excitement, was a letdown that left me feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.
Prior to becoming famous as Deadpool, a part that felt tailor-made for him, Ryan Reynolds initially portrayed Hal Jordan, the most renowned Green Lantern Corps member.
At first, people looked forward to the movie, but soon after its premiere, it turned out that it would be mainly notable for other, quite distinct reasons.
In simpler terms, the movie Green Lantern encountered several problems, as its narrative didn’t have much depth and struggled to portray Hal Jordan’s transition into a hero convincingly. The film was overly complex, trying to handle both Jordan’s character development and cosmic aspects like the Green Lantern Corps and the villain, Parallax. This resulted in a predictable and disjointed storyline.
The film’s overuse of computer-generated imagery (CGI) made it seem outdated quite quickly. Critics often pointed out that Ryan Reynold’s fully CGI costume looked too cartoonish and took attention away from the action. This has turned into a common joke among fans, with Reynolds himself often acknowledging it.
It appears that Reynolds can’t help but take a jocular approach towards the movie in question. Lately, he has shared “The Reynolds Version” of Green Lantern on various social platforms, a light-hearted wink to the widely acclaimed “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, which many people believe significantly enhanced that film.
In Reynolds’ case, his cut also managed to improve Green Lantern—in its own way.
Here’s the much-anticipated special cut of GL by Reynolds that you’ve all been yearning for. To ensure it’s outstanding, we made strategic edits.

In a fresh take on Green Lantern, the narrative commences following the amusing post-credits scene in Deadpool 2, where Deadpool playfully thwarts Ryan Reynolds from accepting the Green Lantern role. Subsequently, the movie compresses its entire content into four swift sequences: Green Lantern experiences his father’s demise, becomes an aviator, receives the ring, and vanquishes Parallax.
Whoa, can you believe it? I can’t help but feel goosebumps when I say this – in a shocking turn of events, it’s none other than Tom Cruise who shows up as Green Lantern towards the end! The revised version of the movie even includes an after-credits scene where Green Lantern has a meet-up with the Justice League before taking off into the sky. Incredible, right?
