Originally, he disclosed, this project carried a different name – “Deadpool & Friend.”

During an interview, The Proposal actor shared that they initially unveiled the movie trailer at the Super Bowl. However, before the official title was revealed, it got leaked online, causing intense backlash from the audience due to its controversial nature. The actor mentioned that they weren’t thrilled about the title leak and the accompanying negative feedback, but they believed it fit perfectly with the initial promotional material they had released.

The actor added that he and director Shawn Levy spent hours in the editing room trying to change the movie title. They contacted Disney and Marvel, but were met with resistance as the film was set to be released imminently. Reynolds persisted, persuading them by declaring, “I won’t call this ‘Deadpool & Friend.’ You need to change it.” Eventually, they relented and altered the title as requested.

Hugh Jackman says Ryan Reynolds is an ‘incredible writer’

In a frank exchange on the program, Hugh Jackman praised his colleague Ryan Reynolds, who collaborated on the Deadpool and Wolverine script, as an exceptional writer. Subsequently, Reynolds confessed that penning scenes for Jackman’s character, Wolverine, was a source of profound fear for him.

He shared that writing for Wolverine proved to be quite difficult for him, despite his enjoyment of writing. This is because Wolverine carries a legendary status in comic book films, one that is truly iconic and influential.
