Ryan Gosling rarely discusses his personal life with Eva Mendes, but he recently offered fans a glimpse into their relationship. The couple, together since 2011, generally prefers to keep their romance private, and they are parents to two daughters. They’ve intentionally built a strong relationship outside of the public eye.
During a recent interview on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce, Ryan Gosling discussed a surprising habit of his Blade Runner co-star, Harrison Ford. Ford had shared with Jimmy Kimmel that he listens to soundtracks from his own movies while being intimate with his wife, Calista Flockhart.
When asked if he’d ever repeat a similar act, Ryan Gosling was emphatic. “Absolutely not,” he stated, and reiterated, “That’s a firm no.” He clearly indicated he doesn’t share Harrison Ford’s bedroom habits.
Although the actor shared a small glimpse into his personal life, he generally keeps his relationship with Mendes very private. They’ve consistently chosen to keep their family life out of the public eye and are rarely seen together in public.
I recently heard Ryan Gosling talking about his new movie, Project Hail Mary – it’s based on the book by Andy Weir, and it sounds amazing! He plays an astronaut who’s basically trying to save the world, which is a pretty big deal. He actually said that becoming a dad influenced his decision to do the film, which I thought was really sweet.
He shared that, as a father of two young children, he feels a lot of media seems aimed at frightening kids. Appearing on The Tonight Show, he explained he was happy to create a story for his children – and their generation – that highlights the positive potential of humanity.
You know, what really struck me about it was how honest it was. It didn’t shy away from the fact that things would go wrong, but it showed that those problems could be overcome. And honestly, I think that’s a big part of why Andy Weir is such a special writer, and why people connect with his books so much.
Ryan Gosling’s recent statements were both funny and sincere. While he briefly shared what he likes, he also emphasized that his family and fulfilling work are his priorities.
It’s nice when celebrities choose to keep most of their relationship private, but still share little, authentic glimpses into their lives. It feels much more real and less like a performance.
