The new X-Files series, created by Ryan Coogler, is coming to Hulu. Actress Danielle Deadwyler, known for her role in The Woman in the Yard, will play one of two FBI agents assigned to investigate unexplained events in a previously closed-off division. The series will explore the age-old question: what’s the truth out there?
Jennifer Yale, from The Copenhagen Test, will lead the show as showrunner and executive producer. Casting for the other agent is still underway, and if you’re looking for new talent, Mr. Coogler, please reach out. This project has been in development for three years, ever since The X-Files creator Chris Carter first announced it in 2023.
Carter will serve as an executive producer on the upcoming X-Files reboot for Hulu, joining Ryan Coogler and Sev Ohanian, as well as Zinzi Coogler. Continuing his practice of working with trusted colleagues, Ryan Coogler has also brought on Francine Maisler, who cast his film Sinners, to handle casting for the series. Fans are hoping Gillian Anderson will reprise her role, and everyone is excited to see the return of the unexplained to television.
