Russos and Brie Larson Shut Down Captain Marvel Avengers: Endgame Trolls

After the premiere of “Captain Marvel” movie and Brie Larson‘s debut in “Avengers: Endgame”, some critics and internet trolls criticized the Russo brothers for Carol Danvers’ appearance, stating that she looked attractive and wore makeup, which they deemed unrealistic or out of character.

Contrarily, it has been disclosed that the choice for makeup belonged to Brie Larson, not Joe and Anthony Russo, as the directors themselves have now unveiled the facts.

Before portraying Captain Marvel, she initially filmed Avengers: Endgame, during which I believe she was exploring the character’s nuances. The decisions regarding her appearance in those scenes were made collaboratively with her styling team. As her comprehension of the character deepened, particularly when preparing for her own film, she began to make different choices. As an artist, she has the creative freedom to choose whatever approach she deems suitable.

Instead, it appears the hairstyle and makeup decision was made by Brie Larson herself, not a preference of the Russo brothers, despite some trolls attributing these changes to them.

Brie Larson addresses the ongoing dispute and calms down her critics on Twitter by acknowledging that she made a mistake with her selection, stating she “tripped up” instead.

In a press conference, Larson expressed that the movie “Endgame” holds a special place in her heart as it marked her debut as Captain Marvel. She mentioned that she had to navigate and understand this character without a script for both the film and the character’s standalone movie, while also performing in front of industry legends for the first time.

Perhaps, after three decades without any cosmetics, she might have felt the desire to enhance her appearance when returning to Earth, hoping to look attractive to Thor.

The Avengers: Endgame opens Apr. 26.
