Rush Hour 4 Will Film in Saudi Arabia — Backed by Trump and $100M Budget

We get another update on Rush Hour 4, which sees Brett Ratner returning to direct.

Recent news indicates the film is now planning to shoot in Saudi Arabia, along with several other locations around the world, as the producers secure funding. Donald Trump remains supportive of the project.

Paramount Commits to U.S. Theatrical Release

According to Puck News, Paramount is planning to release Rush Hour 4 in theaters across the U.S., with a potential rollout to around 4,000 locations, though the final agreement isn’t yet complete.

Warner Bros., as the rights holder, needed this to start selling the film internationally and secure funding from around the world.

I’m really excited about this project, and it’s no surprise it’s already secured $100 million in funding! Producers Tarak Ben Ammar and Bahman Naraghi, who works with Brett Ratner, have clearly convinced investors with their dedication and vision.

A spring or summer shoot is now being discussed, depending on talent deals.

Filming in China, Africa — and Saudi Arabia

The movie is said to be about illegal wildlife hunting and will likely be filmed in China, Africa, and Saudi Arabia.

Filming in Saudi Arabia is linked to financial backing, as the kingdom aims to increase its presence in worldwide entertainment – similar to their involvement with Zack Snyder’s UFC Brawler and their wider efforts in Hollywood and gaming.

Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, evidence suggests the Saudi Public Investment Fund is likely involved in increasing production.

No Deal Yet With Chan or Tucker

The report notes that Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker haven’t committed to the new film yet. Both actors made over $20 million on Rush Hour 3, and their potential involvement now carries more weight since the project has been announced. The team is still hoping they’ll join, but their hesitation gives them some negotiating power.

Despite everything, Puck reports that everyone supports this deal, including Donald Trump, who apparently worked to advance it privately.
