Kate Hudson hasn’t closed the door on the possibility of having more children. During a chat on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, the actress, who has three offspring, expressed her lingering curiosity about whether or not she’s finished expanding her family.
Hudson shared with Kelce, “I often contemplate having more kids. Sometimes I even wonder if I’m truly finished having them. It’s hard for me to picture myself stopping because I love being a mom so much.” She further explained that it feels unusual to consider stopping when she cherishes the role of motherhood so deeply.
Hudson, a mother for more than two decades, pondered the unique parenting journeys she’s had with each of her kids. She is a co-parent to Ryder (age 21), who is shared with ex-husband Chris Robinson, Bingham (age 13) with her former fiancé Matt Bellamy, and Rani (age 5) with current partner Danny Fujikawa.
In a chat with Netflix’s Skip Intro host, Krista Smith, Hudson shared insights about how her approach to parenting has changed throughout the years, according to People magazine.
She mentioned that raising children at various life phases has proved to be an intriguing journey for her, with her youngest child still an infant, Bing on the brink of puberty, and Ryder already a mature adult. Observing them grow and flourish, she expressed, is one of the most fulfilling achievements she’s experienced as a parent.
In the course of their conversation during the podcast, Hudson – mother to one daughter – and Kelce, anticipating her fourth child (all girls), delved into the distinct aspects of rearing sons versus daughters. Kelce, with her three daughters, admitted she’s yet to face the challenge of raising boys, while Hudson found having a daughter an exceptional journey for herself.
Hudson expressed that her relationship with her daughter Rani is special, explaining they’re almost always together. She likened their bond to Velcro, emphasizing that it feels distinct from her ties with her sons.
In the meantime, Kelce – expecting another daughter – revealed that she and her husband, Jason Kelce, had pondered over naming their child Andie, after the character Andie Anderson from Hudson’s film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Hudson found this prospect endearing, referring to it as an adorable name choice.
