Rumor: Solo Scarlet Witch Project Is Being Quietly Shelved by Marvel

As a seasoned Marvel fan who has witnessed the rise and fall (and possibly rise again) of numerous characters, I must say that the Scarlet Witch saga has been nothing short of captivating. From her humble beginnings as a secondary villain to her heroic turn in the Avengers, Wanda Maximoff’s journey has been nothing if not dramatic.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s second Avengers film, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the character known as the Scarlet Witch was first presented as a secondary antagonist. Portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, Wanda Maximoff has since evolved to play a pivotal role within the Avengers team, becoming an essential component and even earning her own streaming series titled “WandaVision.”

I played a significant part in “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness,” where my transformation into a villain reached its climax, forcing Doctor Strange to battle me to protect our universe. In the end, Wanda made a heroic sacrifice by annihilating every last copy of the Darkhold, which left fans contented with her noble demise.

Although Scarlet Witch seemed to have passed away, there were whispers about a possible future solo venture for her. However, the fate of that project remains uncertain. If the gossip is true, she is expected to reappear in some form at a later time.

Due to recent buzz surrounding Deadpool and Wolverine, plus a flurry of significant updates, the Marvel gossip mill has been running hot. Consequently, we have some fresh speculation for you. Apparently, according to The Cosmic Circus podcast, the proposed Scarlet Witch solo project might be on hold, but it doesn’t necessarily signal the end of Elizabeth Olsen’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
