Rumor Says ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Flopped During Test Screenings

As a long-time Marvel fan with over two decades of watching, reading, and discussing every intricate detail of their cinematic universe, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and trepidation as Captain America: Brave New World approaches in 2025. While it’s exciting to see Anthony Mackie stepping into the role of Captain America, it’s hard not to miss Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. The production struggles and reported disappointing test screenings have added an extra layer of uncertainty that even a die-hard fan like me can’t ignore.

In Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the upcoming film titled “Captain America: New Horizon” is planned to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. Anthony Mackie will assume the role of Captain America, stepping into the shoes previously worn by Chris Evans’ character Steve Rogers in prior films. However, it appears that this movie may hold some unexpected twists regarding the Captain America character.

While fans rejoice as Sam Wilson ascends in the Marvel universe, there’s a significant number who continue to pine for Chris Evans. Just like with other major Marvel characters, it’s hard for them to visualize anyone else taking on their cherished superhero role. This is what makes the movie’s launch particularly challenging.

As a devoted fan, I must admit, the anticipation for this upcoming movie has been tainted by a series of challenges that have surfaced throughout its production. From reshoots and script revisions that have dramatically altered its original vision, it appears that the film is on the cusp of release, but not without some initial setbacks. According to World of Reel, the initial test screening for this movie didn’t quite hit the mark, leaving me with a sense of trepidation.

A diverse array of both fresh and familiar faces are set to grace the screens in “Captain America: Brave New World“, as the film promises a multilayered and expansive narrative. Notably, figures beloved from “The Incredible Hulk” will make their return, with Thaddeus Ross transforming into the Red Hulk. Moreover, the emergence of the Serpent Society is anticipated, with Giancarlo Esposito set to embody its leader, Seth Voelker/Sidewinder.

The controversial Sabra will also be featured in the movie.

Spectators find themselves uncertain about this film and worry that it might fail. They’ve closely monitored its progress practically since the announcement. Now, Marvel is holding preliminary viewings, and as per World of Reel’s account, things don’t seem promising.

Last week, two distinct versions of the movie were privately shown, and it appears that details about one of those versions have been unintentionally revealed on the internet. From what I can gather, the individual who watched it didn’t seem overly fond of the film.

From my conversations, it appears that attendees were divided into two groups based on the color of their wristbands (red or green) and directed to separate cinemas. The feedback I’ve received about the film has been rather critical, with words like “superfluous” and “dull” being used to describe it.

To put it plainly, while we can’t verify the accuracy of this information, it’s not implausible given the circumstances. However, since we have no connection to these alleged sources, we must approach this report with skepticism. Here’s hoping that the reports are somewhat overstated and that the upcoming movie won’t be an utter failure next year.
