Grey State Studio, a part of Tencent Games, has revealed its new PC game, Rules of Engagement: The Grey State, scheduled to launch in 2026. It’s a free-to-play horror-themed extraction shooter where players can only purchase cosmetic items – there will be no other in-game purchases.
Players will explore the Grey State, a dangerous and unpredictable dimension packed with frightening creatures and powerful items. They’ll risk facing these threats to find a special artifact known as the Vertex, which is the main reason for their journey.
In the dangerous world of Grey State, there are no rules – you’ll face both terrifying creatures and rival teams. Each game lets you choose: either escape with whatever you’ve collected before the final battle, or risk it all to hunt down the powerful Vertex.
The game currently features three playable classes – Sledge, Pyro, and Phantom – each with its own weapons and special abilities. A fourth class is planned and will be announced soon.
