Rotta The Hutt Has a STAR WARS Six Pack in New Image

The story of Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker first unfolded in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie, starting with a rather unusual case – a kidnapped baby Hutt nicknamed “stinky” named Rotta. Now, years later in The Mandalorian and Grogu, we’ll see what happened to Rotta, now grown up and voiced by Jeremy Allen White. He’s not a baby anymore – he’s muscular and ready for a fight! A new image from the series reveals Rotta the Hutt as a powerfully built gladiator.

A new article in Empire magazine reveals details about The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, including a major new character: Jeremy Allen White, known for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere and The Bear, will voice Rotta the Hutt. Unlike his lazy father, Jabba, this version of Rotta is a formidable fighter, as shown in a new image of him wielding two large blades in a fighting arena.

Forget Stinky. More like “Swoll the Hutt.” (No…no, that’s not…we’ll work that out.)

Unlike his father, Jabba, you won’t need a translator to understand Rotta. Allen White, who voices Rotta, studied Jabba’s voice but made sure Rotta speaks Basic, the common language. White explains his voice actually changes when he performs as Rotta, and listening to Jabba was a helpful starting point.

Michael B. Jordan, known for his role in the Creed movies, also plays a significant character in the series. According to writer and director Jon Favreau, this character, named Rotta, is similar to Adonis Creed in that he’s trying to make a name for himself while living in the shadow of a famous father – in this case, Jabba the Hutt. Favreau found it interesting to explore how Rotta’s lineage impacts his journey and how he establishes his own identity.

I’m incredibly excited for The Mandalorian and Grogu to hit the big screen on May 22, 2026 – imagining Din Djarin battling it out like a gladiator is just awesome! But honestly, this new glimpse of Rotta the Hutt has really got me thinking about what’s to come. It’s clear things are about to get really interesting.
