Rosie O’Donnell recently shared that Keanu Reeves was a difficult guest to have on her talk show, calling him one of the worst she’s ever interviewed.
Looking back on her six years hosting a daytime TV show, O’Donnell explained to the audience that she wasn’t trying to be unkind – she was simply sharing what she genuinely thought.
She confessed that Keanu Reeves, despite being a wonderful person she greatly admires, struggles with talk show interviews. The audience reacted with surprise. She quickly added that she thinks he’s kind, handsome, and loves his films, but he tends to avoid answering questions.
O’Donnell remembered a funny but uncomfortable moment during a live TV interview with Keanu Reeves. She recalled asking him how he was doing, and he’d just reply with a quiet ‘Good.’ Feeling the pressure of limited time, she finally had to point out, ‘Keanu, this is a talk show – you’re supposed to talk!’
Although Reeves was initially hesitant, he eventually became a comfortable guest on O’Donnell’s show. She explained, “He’s a genuinely kind person, and I don’t want to say anything negative about him,” making it clear she held no grudges.
Keanu Reeves frequently appears on talk shows, consistently delighting fans as he discusses his new work.
