MGM+ has unveiled the official trailer for its new series, Robin Hood, which will debut on November 2nd. This dramatic take on the legendary story offers a fresh and expansive look at the tale of Robin Hood, featuring Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Story Overview
This series takes place in 12th-century England and centers on Robert of Locksley. After losing his family’s land and witnessing his father’s execution at the hands of the Sheriff, Rob-a talented archer-channels his sorrow into a fight against the unjust rule of the Normans and the corruption within the royal court.
Marian, a woman of high standing, finds herself torn between her family obligations and her feelings for Rob. She ultimately joins his fight for fairness and liberty in a country torn apart by conflict.
Sherwood and the Outlaws
Rob, who becomes known as Robin Hood, brings together a group of rebels in Sherwood Forest. These rebels, made up of Saxons from all backgrounds, unite to fight against the unfair rule of the Sheriff, wealthy barons, and Norman royalty. What starts as a quest for revenge quickly evolves into something much larger, turning Robin Hood into a legendary figure and a beacon of hope that will ultimately influence the future of England.
Cast and Creators
I’m so excited about this series! Jack Patten is playing Rob, and I’ve always loved Lauren McQueen – she’s perfect as Marian. Plus, Sean Bean is the Sheriff of Nottingham, which is amazing! It’s great to see Lydia Peckham, Steven Waddington, and Connie Nielsen involved too – the cast is fantastic.
The new series, *Robin Hood*, is led by showrunner John Glenn. Jonathan English directed the show and also serves as an executive producer, alongside Glenn and Todd Lieberman.
