In simpler terms, Robert Pattinson has disclosed that he now understands the plot for The Batman 2. During interviews for his upcoming movie Mickey17, the actor, who is reprising his role as Batman, divulged this intriguing detail to enthusiasts.
In an interview with ExtraTV, Pattinson shared, “Matt is a meticulous writer, but now I finally understand its essence. It’s quite intriguing and I’m thrilled about it.” Although he didn’t disclose any plot details, his comment fueled fan anticipation, suggesting that the film’s progress is advancing positively.
The upcoming sequel, overseen by director Matt Reeves, has experienced multiple push-backs, keeping fans on edge for updates. It’s anticipated that production will commence towards the end of this year, but an official start date is yet to be confirmed.
The sequel to “The Batman” has experienced delays at least thrice, causing a shift in its production timeline. Despite these hiccups, the movie continues to be in development, leaving fans on tenterhooks for any news about its advancements.
2025 is projected as the commencement date for production, although neither Warner Bros. nor DC Studios has provided an official announcement about this. Some experts in the industry speculate that potential delays may be due to Reeves dedicating his time towards broadening the Batman universe, including the development of The Penguin series on Max.
Even though there have been some setbacks, the fact that Pattinson has confirmed his knowledge about the sequel’s plot hints that the script could be already done, or nearly so.
As work continued on The Batman 2, director Matt Reeves introduced a spin-off show, titled “The Penguin”, which centered around the character Oz Cobbs, portrayed by Colin Farrell. This series made its debut on Max in September 2024 and garnered positive responses from both fans and critics alike.
In a fitting recognition, Farrell’s exceptional acting skills won him the Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.’ Moreover, the series itself garnered no less than three Golden Globe nominations.
Despite being originally intended as a single season show, the success of The Penguin has ignited talks about a potential second season. Some speculate that the hold-up on The Batman 2 could be so that director Matt Reeves can broaden the Batman universe’s focus on this character.
