Marvel Studios is generating excitement by gradually revealing what they have planned for devoted superhero enthusiasts. As Avengers: Endgame is currently being filmed, Robert Downey Jr. has given fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the set with his new co-stars from the upcoming installment of the superhero movie series.
On social media, Robert Downey Jr., known for kick-starting the Marvel Cinematic Universe, just posted an exciting photo with fellow MCU cast members. In the shared image, there’s Downey Jr. clearly enjoying himself among the actors who joined him on set.
On May 2nd, 2025, I proudly shared a carousel post on Instagram, featuring an exciting moment with my Marvel Studios cohorts. The first photo captured me, clad in all black, standing amongst my longtime friends, raised fist high, right smack dab in the middle.
In the photos, Chris Hemsworth (the same actor who starred alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Endgame) and Channing Tatum (known for roles in Deadpool and Wolverine as Gambit) were present.
The image also included Simu Liu, Paul Rudd, along with upcoming Marvel characters Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Vanessa Kirby, and Winston Duke, who was alongside Anthony Mackie. The actress from Hobbs & Shaw was positioned next to them.
With a delightful comment for this captivating post, Robert Downey Jr. said, “Absolutely astounding! A meal and performance with the original Avengers. It’s awesome, refreshing, and profound. Many kudos. #thunderbolts
It appears that the team gathered for a screening of Thunderbolts*, as suggested by the third and final image in the carousel, during which the actor stood before the television.
For those unaware, Robert Downey Jr. will rejoin the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this time as the sinister antagonist instead of his beloved hero, Iron Man. His character transformation is into Victor Von Doom, more commonly known as Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026.
