Robert Downey Jr. Comes Back to the MCU as Victor Von Doom

As a longtime Marvel fan and avid follower of the MCU, I can hardly contain my excitement as I type these words. With all due respect to the iconic Steve Rogers, but some news has left me speechless. The man who brought Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, to life on the silver screen is coming back to the franchise, and this time, he’s not just suiting up in red and gold.

Despite my deep admiration for Steve Rogers, this news takes me by surprise. Shockingly, Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., who kick-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be back – but not as Tony Stark. At San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H panel this year, Marvel Studios made a major announcement: RDJ is set to portray Doctor Doom in the next two Avengers films.

The MCU’s multiverse may be perplexing at times, yet immensely satisfying now. Previously frustrating, it is now a source of great excitement. With Disney opting out of “The Kang Dynasty” for “Avengers 5,” Marvel searched for an impressive antagonist to spearhead Phase 6. Who else could fit that bill than Victor Von Doom, one of the most iconic and formidable villains in comic books? And who better to embody that role of a brilliant, charismatic, arrogant larger-than-life character than Academy Award-winning actor and MCU veteran Robert Downey Jr. He will now play a significant part in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which the Russo brothers will direct as they rejoin the franchise.

Like we said: holy sh*t. Sorry Cap, but even you’d forget about language at a time like this.
