Robert De Niro has publicly criticized President Donald Trump again, sharing his strong feelings in a recent podcast conversation.
I have to say, Robert De Niro really didn’t pull any punches during his recent interview with Nicole Wallace. He was incredibly direct about his concerns, warning that our country is in serious danger and urging Americans to take action. He bluntly stated that Trump is actively harming the nation – and he wasn’t shy about using strong language to get his point across. De Niro made it very clear: he believes it’s up to all of us to save the country.
During a discussion with Nicole Wallace, Robert De Niro repeatedly stated that Donald Trump poses a serious danger to the United States. He urged unity, saying, “We need to be realistic. It’s that straightforward. Everyone needs to work together to remove him from power and get the country moving forward again,” and directly called Trump “an enemy of the United States.”
Robert De Niro emphasized that real change requires people to actively oppose harmful forces. He repeatedly urged listeners to “resist” during an interview, stating, “People have to resist, resist, resist, resist, resist. That’s the only way. There’s no quick fix, and the movement won’t simply disappear, even if Trump were no longer in power.” He warned that even with a change in leadership, the underlying political forces supporting Trump would likely persist, and it would be up to ordinary citizens to counteract them.
Towards the end of the podcast, Wallace referenced Robert De Niro’s Oscar acceptance speech from 1981 for “Raging Bull,” noting his habit of acknowledging and supporting his colleagues. When she asked De Niro why this was important to him, he became visibly moved. He explained, with emotion, that it’s crucial to uplift and unite people, stating firmly, “You can’t win by dividing people.”
He argued that disagreements only make the country weaker. He described a troubling situation, suggesting it felt predetermined and that someone was actively trying to harm the nation, perhaps without fully understanding the consequences. He concluded by saying it’s our responsibility to defend the country.
Robert De Niro has publicly voiced his opinions before. Back in October 2025, he featured in a TikTok video posted by the activist group Indivisible, urging people to participate in the No Kings protests. He drew a parallel to the American Revolution, stating, “The first No Kings protest happened 250 years ago,” referencing the fight against King George III. He then directly criticized Donald Trump, saying, “Now we have someone trying to act like a king – King Donald the First. That’s unacceptable. We’re protesting again, this time peacefully, to say: No Kings.”
Robert De Niro has consistently and publicly criticized Donald Trump, and a recent interview shows he still feels strongly about his views.
