Rob Schneider Apologizes to Daughter Elle King For Sending Her To ‘Fat Camp’ and Being An Absent Parent

As a fervent admirer of Rob Schneider‘s comedic genius, it pains me to see him go through such a public struggle with his daughter Elle King. Having grown up watching his hilarious characters on screen, I always imagined a joyful family life behind the scenes. Yet, it seems that their relationship has been fraught with pain and estrangement.

Rob Schneider is expressing remorse towards his daughter Elle King and asking for her forgiveness, as he acknowledges that he wasn’t the most involved father during her childhood years and even admitted to sending her to a weight loss program (fat camp). At 60 years old, the comedian hopes to make amends for these past actions.

In an upcoming conversation with Tucker Carlson, Schneider expresses his apologies to King for not being the father she needed when she was young. He conveys a sense of profound regret and pleads for her forgiveness, while emphasizing his deep affection for both her and Lucky, her child. According to USA Today, in a clip from the interview, he states, “To my daughter Elle, I want you to know that I love you. I wish I had been the father for you in my twenties that you needed, and it’s clear I wasn’t.”

Schneider gazes directly into the camera as he speaks softly, “I genuinely hope you can find it in your heart to forgive my imperfections. My affection for you is absolute, encompassing every part of you. I wish nothing but wellness and happiness for you, and your precious baby, Lucky. May the best be yours. I feel remorseful, and I want you to understand that any words you say don’t reflect on me personally.”

Prior to this confession, King had previously discussed their strained relationship on the Dumb Blonde podcast hosted by Bunnie XO. Among various points, King mentioned that they did not share a bond until she was significantly older and also reminisced about difficult periods in her childhood, such as being sent to a “fat camp” during her pre-teen years. She expressed, “Eventually, I didn’t want to spend the summer with him.”

King attributed the lack of involvement in significant life moments and disdain towards body art, including tattoos, to Schneider.

King’s narrative on Schneider’s negligence involves occurrences such as having to spend a day with a security guard in Moscow, an incident resulting from Schneider’s disorganized arrangements.

She expressed, “You may yearn for someone to alter themselves intensely, but at the end of the day, nobody can dictate another person’s actions or emotions. What one can manage is how they respond and handle their own feelings.”

Despite my dad Schneider’s recent apology, I, Elle King, have made it clear that he never endorsed my music career. In fact, I’ve gone to great lengths to distance myself from him. Additionally, I’ve been vocal about my disagreement with his choice of words regarding drag and his stance on anti-gay rights. I stand firm in my beliefs and values, and they do not align with his.
