As a dedicated fan of Rob Lowe’s illustrious career and heartwarming family dynamics, I must say that witnessing the father-son duo of Rob and John Owen Lowe on Unstable is nothing short of a magical experience. The second season of this hilarious workplace comedy series has only served to strengthen their bond both on and off screen.
Rob Lowe and his son John Owen have joined forces for the successful workplace comedy series “Unstable”. The second season of the show was made available earlier this month. In the series, Lowe and Owen portray fictional father and son characters, which they produced alongside Victor Fresco. Most recently, Lowe spoke candidly about acting alongside his son, expressing his immense pride in their collaborative effort to create such a show.
Rob Lowe and John Owen return as the father-son duo Ellis and Jackson Dragon in Season 2 of Netflix’s Unstable. The series follows Jackson, the son of a narcissistic tech genius, who moves back home to help pull his father, Ellis, out of an emotional crisis.
In a recent chat with PEOPLE magazine, Lowe expressed his admiration for Owen’s acting talent and shared his gratitude for collaborating with him on the show. The Actor from Knife Fight stated, “It’s like a dream, both on a personal and professional level,” further explaining, “As a parent, you want your children to thrive, and the idea of Johnny, at just 28, producing, writing, and starring in (Unstable) is simply amazing.”
As a proud father, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride seeing my sons, Matthew Edward Lowe and John Owen Lowe, make their mark in the world. It’s truly a humbling and fulfilling experience for me to watch them grow up, especially as they’ve co-created a show like Unstable. I find it almost unbelievable that my son, John, has grown into a talented writer who created a character specifically for me in this show. His performance in season 2 is simply extraordinary; I can honestly say his work is next level.
Lowe shared that becoming a father stands out as the most remarkable event in his life and he takes pride in his role as a dad. Nevertheless, the actor confessed to making parenting errors, recognizing that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to child-rearing. At 60 years old, Lowe admitted that despite everyone’s imperfections, he’s grateful for the chance to pour all his efforts into fatherhood.
John Owen, his co-fathered son with wife Sheryl Berkoff, recently spoke about working alongside his renowned father in an interview with Fox News Digital. In the conversation, Owen mentioned that they developed a work rhythm and figured out how to manage their on-set behavior, which was a new experience for them both. He also expressed his deep affection for him without any conditions.
Meanwhile, Unstable season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
