Rob Liefeld has recently verified my summer scoop, where my Marvel sources indicated that the initial concept for “Daredevil: Born Again” was to align the series more closely with the Daredevil from the “She-Hulk” series, indeed embracing a goofy and humorous tone.
Based on information I received from my Marvel contacts at Comic-Con, the storyline for “Daredevil: Born Again” is being revised to mimic the Netflix series. This adjustment has been verified multiple times by industry publications and even by the cast and creative team associated with it.
What did Rob Liefeld say?
In response to remarks made by Vincent D’Onofrio during an interview with GQ, Rob Liefeld, the originator of Deadpool, expressed his displeasure towards Marvel and Kevin Feige, as he stated that they weren’t content with the series.
Before the Marvel Brass heeded the talents’ suggestions, the show was purely comedic, according to Liefeld. However, they later brought in action-oriented actor Phil Silvera, who essentially re-shot nearly every episode. Now, the action and stunts in the series are truly extraordinary!

Vincent DāOnofrio, who returns as Kingpin, responded to Liefeldās tweet.
In a recent tweet, D’Onofrio shared that Phil has been rehired to handle stunts, which is accurate. However, it’s worth noting that the new episodes, including action sequences, are being scripted by our showrunner, Dario. With his valuable skills, Phil stepped in to oversee the stunt coordination. It was a joy to return, and everyone put in a great effort for the fans. Our producers, Charlie, myself, Dario, and the studio heads all felt we knew what the viewers desired. That was our main objective.

Games Radar caught wind of the exchange and wrote up an article dismissing Liefeldās claims.
Liefeld tweeted, “I’m absolutely right about this – everything else is just spinning the story. It’s good they made the correction. I’ve got records to back me up for a long time.
Originally more of a legal procedural
Previously discussed, it’s now officially confirmed that the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again” is set to be a comedic one, similar to “She-Hulk.” This shift was announced by the new showrunner, Dario Scardapane, who clarified this point in an interview with EW.com back in December. In essence, his statement aligns perfectly with what I initially mentioned.
Originally, it was designed as a legal procedural, but we significantly shifted its focus towards a fast-paced New York crime drama instead. The challenge lay in maintaining the essence of the previous Netflix series while transforming it into something entirely fresh and innovative.
Scardapane also confirmed they wonāt be referencing anything from She-Hulk.
