In the forthcoming “Voltron” live-action movie, Rita Ora, a popular British singer, songwriter, television personality, and actress, is virtually unrecognizable. She recently discussed the film at Variety’s Oscar party earlier this month.

I can’t help but marvel at how radically transformed Variety appears in Voltron! She admitted to this change, although she’s tight-lipped about the details. It’s certainly intriguing to speculate that she might embody the character of Haggar the Witch.

What did Rita Ora say about Voltron?

Variety mentioning how unrecognizable she is, put a smile on the face of Rita Ora, who replied:

I am. I cannot say too much. I’ve been sworn to secrecy but I’m very excited for every to find out…

Rita Ora continued and made mention of her co-stars Sterling K. Brown and Henry Cavill:

Speaking casually, Sterling K. Brown and I are two of many exceptionally gifted individuals. Henry Cavill and numerous other remarkable people… Absolutely. I’d rather not divulge too much, or else I might face some consequences. Let me just say they’re incredibly talented. I’ve learned a tremendous amount from them. They’re true professionals, always prepared to the max, which is truly impressive.

There’s also some uncertainty about the characters that Brown and Cavill will portray. Is it possible that Brown could take on the role of Emperor Zarkon? And perhaps Cavill is playing King Alfor, given the sightings of him sporting longer, curly hair on set?

Who is Haggar the Witch?

In the world of Voltron, Haggar is a formidable sorceress who works under Emperor Zarkon. She’s one of the primary antagonists and specializes in crafting fearsome Robeasts to challenge Voltron. Her powers extend beyond mere sorcery; she can control minds, launch energy attacks, transform into different forms, and even bend reality itself. In certain storylines, it’s disclosed that she shares a connection with Princess Allura as both are of the same Altean race.

Who stars?

Although the cast is already set, the specific roles are still a secret. It’s speculated that the younger actors will portray the pilots of the lions.

Besides Rita Ora, Henry Cavill, and Sterling K. Brown, the cast also features Alba Baptista (recently seen on set with her husband Chris Evans), Daniel Quinn-Toye, Samson Kayo, John Kim, Tharanya Tharan, Laura Gordon, and Tim Griffin.

As a die-hard cinephile, I can’t help but feel thrilled about the upcoming movie directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. Rawson Marshall Thurber provided some initial insights about the movie’s layout, hinting at various locations such as the “Community Area,” the “Strategy Room,” the “Hall of Legends,” the “Lion statues,” and others.

As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for the live-action version of Voltron, a project penned by Ellen Shanman and Thurber, under the banner of Amazon Studios.
