On the 7th of January, Monica Long, who is the president of Ripple, shared insights about her firm’s strategic plans in an interview on Bloomberg TV.

She underscored Ripple’s continuous initiatives to expand the circulation and accessibility of Ripple USD (RLUSD) on more exchanges, suggesting that significant updates and announcements are coming soon. Moreover, she underlined the rising interest in stablecoins, predicting a substantial increase in their popularity over the next twelve months.

She pointed out that Ripple’s payments division, having doubled in size over the past year, demonstrates this growth pattern and sets up the company’s payment services for further development. Furthermore, she highlighted that RLUSD is anticipated to be a key element in the company’s strategic plan.

Expressing a continued positive outlook for the overall cryptocurrency sector, she anticipates substantial industry growth by 2025. She emphasized that this expansion is expected to generate fresh prospects for Ripple and the proliferation of crypto-centric financial tools. In particular, Long proposes XRP as a potential candidate for the next exchange-traded fund (ETF) following bitcoin and ether.

Long emphasized that shifts in the U.S. regulatory environment could expedite the approval of crypto spot ETFs, due to a dynamic and evolving landscape. She implied that potential changes within the U.S. administration may propel these developments even faster. This view from Long signifies Ripple’s belief that enhanced regulatory clarity will open up more growth prospects for the cryptocurrency sector.
