Riley Keough and her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s book dives into their bond & more
Before she passed away on January 12, 2023, at the age of 54, Lisa Marie Presley requested her daughter, Riley, to finish writing her memoirs. The book’s chapters offer insight into different periods of her life, such as the loss of her father, Elvis Presley, in 1977; relocating to Los Angeles with Priscilla Presley; and struggles with addiction and mourning, among other experiences.
The actor from Daisy Jones & The Six shared with Variety that Lisa Marie Presley had been working on this project for about three or four years, and he felt compelled to contribute to it and help her finish. It’s deeply emotional, healing, and brings him closer to her. It’s a mix of bittersweet, challenging, and unique feelings.
Using notes left behind by her late mother, Riley finished the memoir, filled with tales from her Graceland upbringing and insights into musician Lisa’s personal life, including her relationships with Danny Keough and Michael Jackson. Riley found this process both healing and emotional, acknowledging that making such a decision wasn’t easy for her. Yet, she pursued it as it felt right for her mother, despite the hardships involved.
