Hard to believe, but it’s been twenty long years since “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” graced the big screen. To mark two decades of Obi-Wan Kenobi standing tall, Lucasfilm is bringing back this classic to cinemas this spring. For those who have only known Order 66 through DVDs or streaming on Disney+, get ready for a whole new universe! “Revenge of the Sith” will play in U.S. theaters and selected international locations for one week only, starting April 25. The movie will be available in various formats, including, excitingly, 4DX for the first time. Take a look at the stunning new poster by renowned artist Matt Ferguson below:
Matt Ferguson’s poster adopts a menacing red and black style reminiscent of the Sith. It focuses on Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) giving in to darkness, leading up to his transformation into the infamous Darth Vader. In the background, he stands ominously, foreshadowing his future as the notorious Lord Vader. Beneath Anakin, a pivotal fight scene with his previous mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), on Mustafar is depicted. Additional intriguing elements are Republic Star Destroyers clashing with Separatist vessels during the final stages of the Clone Wars.
Initially, we thought that when “Revenge of the Sith” premiered, it would conclude the Star Wars movie saga as George Lucas had led us to believe at the time. However, things didn’t turn out that way. Yet, “Revenge of the Sith” remains a cherished memory for many Star Wars enthusiasts. Now, you can relive or discover it anew, just as George Lucas envisioned, on the largest movie screen available, complete with shaking seats and all!
