There’s been plenty of chatter regarding who will spearhead the next Resident Evil game. Some folks have hinted that Jill Valentine could be a significant player, but a reliable leaker known as AestheticGamer (or Dusk Golem) has recently disclosed otherwise on Discord. They’ve confirmed emphatically that Leon S. Kennedy will be the central figure in this upcoming game.
As for me, I was last spotted in the thrilling world of Resident Evil 6. Not too long ago, I found myself back in action as the lead character in the wildly successful remake of Resident Evil 4, a game that managed to sell an impressive nine million copies!
Previously, it was discussed that Jill would have a significant part. However, AestheticGamer pointed out that this was indeed the case in the past, but the situation has evolved since then. In simpler terms, they stated, ‘It used to be true. It’s not true now.’
It’s been confirmed that a new installment of Resident Evil, tentatively referred to as Resident Evil 9, is under development. The man behind the helm for Resident Evil 7: biohazard, Koshi Nakanishi, is heading the project and has expressed that the game feels ‘significant.’ While some speculate it may be released later this year, there’s also a possibility we won’t see it until 2026.
Back then, it was accurate; currently, it’s no longer the case. To put it simply, there’s nothing complex about it. If Resident Evil 9 ever reveals concept art in the future, I wouldn’t be shocked if they included early sketches featuring Jill.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been buzzing with excitement about the whispers of remakes for Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil – Code: Veronica! It’s been rumored that the talented minds at K2 are working their magic on Resident Evil Zero, while Capcom Dev 1 is taking charge of Code: Veronica. For now, we can only wait impatiently for more information on these promising projects.
Excitedly speaking, it appears that I, as a fan, might be controlling Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil 9! Though there’s still much speculation, it’s always wise to await formal confirmations for the complete story.
