As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the apocalypse and back with the Resident Evil series, this leak feels like a tantalizing taste of the undead feast to come! Four years after the chilling events of Village, it seems Jill Valentine and Leon S Kennedy are set to return, their fates intertwined once more in this new tale. The thought of seeing Jill in her Lost in Nightmares attire again is enough to make my heart race, and Leon’s matured look brings back memories of Damnation.
A recent leak has spilled some intriguing details about ‘Resident Evil 9,’ the upcoming game by Capcom that’s in the works for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
Though no specific date for its launch or formal unveiling has been announced as of now, the leak provides a glimpse into the narrative, characters, and gaming mechanics that we can look forward to.
Four years post-Resident Evil Village, I find myself back in the thick of it as a gamer, this time with old friends Jill Valentine and Leon S Kennedy spearheading our mission. My trusty comrades Chris Redfield and Barry Burton are also along for the ride, ready to face whatever horrors await us.
In a nod to her character design from ‘Resident Evil 5: Lost in Nightmares,’ Jill is often depicted wearing a strategic ensemble. On the other hand, Leon’s appearance seems to draw inspiration from his portrayal in ‘Resident Evil: Damnation,’ giving off an older vibe.
The primary storyline takes place on an island serving as the headquarters for Eveline’s makers. Here, Jill and Leon are delving into large-scale cloning projects related to the Megamycete, eventually finding themselves infected due to these experiments.
An essential part of the plot revolves around Rosemary Winters, a key figure in the creation of a vaccine, using her own blood as the basis for its development.
The game is set to bring back the Blue Umbrella character, offering unique settings like a derelict hospital, caverns, and a foreboding woodland.
In this new version, our adversaries have advanced significantly. Now, the zombies sport moon tattoos and are capable of using melee weapons, similar to the Ganados seen in ‘Resident Evil 4.’
Throughout the game, Leon is pursued by a mysterious foe, and Jill faces off against the Goatman.
In the storyline, we introduce a novel figure named Mr. Simon, who brings an intriguing enigma to the plot.
It’s expected that this part of the game will bring an end to the narrative thread initiated in ‘Resident Evil 7’ and further developed in ‘Resident Evil Village.’
This information comes from Biohazard Declassified, courtesy of an anonymous playtester.
Though these intriguing tidbits are tantalizing, it’s crucial to bear in mind that they remain speculative at this point since Capcom hasn’t confirmed anything yet. We’ll make sure to share any fresh details as soon as we receive them.
