Kate Prepon began her career acting in plays like A Woman of Property and Ascension Day. In 1996, she also studied acting with Caroline Thomas at the Total Theatre Lab. Before focusing on acting, she worked as a model, appearing in photoshoots in cities like Paris, Milan, and Brazil.
Laura Prepon’s career took off in 1998 when she landed the role of Donna on the Fox comedy That ’70s Show. The show, which aired until 2006, centered around a group of teenagers navigating life in the 1970s, and Prepon played Donna, the intelligent and self-sufficient girlfriend of Eric Forman, portrayed by Topher Grace.

In 2006, she appeared in the thriller Karla, and from 2007 to 2008, she was a cast member on the ABC drama October Road. She also showcased her creative talents behind the camera by directing and editing the web series Neighbros, which featured her then-boyfriend, Scott Michael Foster. Throughout her career, Prepon has proven her skills as an actress, director, and producer, demonstrating her adaptability within the entertainment world.
In 2012, Laura Prepon began playing Alex Vause in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, which was inspired by Piper Kerman’s life story. The role of Alex, a past drug smuggler and Piper Chapman’s girlfriend, let Prepon demonstrate her range as an actress, blending dramatic moments with comedic timing. She also directed an episode of the show’s fifth season, signaling her growing interest in directing.

In 2016, she teamed up with nutritionist Elizabeth Troy to write a wellness book, The Stash Plan, where she discussed her journey with healthy eating and overcoming health issues. She later expanded her interests by creating PrepOn Kitchen, a line of cooking tools, and began sharing how-to cooking videos online.
Actress Kate Prepon was with Christopher Masterson for eight years, from 1999 to 2007, and later had a relationship with Scott Michael Foster. She married Ben Foster in 2018, and they share two children. In 2024, Ben Foster filed for divorce, stating they had differences that couldn’t be resolved. Prepon joined the Church of Scientology in 1999 but left the organization in 2016.
