The final episode of Kowloon Generic Romance featured Hajime reminiscing about Kujirai B’s teachings that nostalgia and love are one and the same, in reference to the original Kowloon Walled City. Currently, Miyuki Hebinuma pays a visit to Wong Loi Realty, sanitizes Hajime, unexpectedly kisses Reiko, and then departs.
On his day off, Hajime brings a fresh aquarium to Reiko’s apartment, feeling the same wistful longing he once experienced in Kujirai B’s house. Later, Reiko thanks him with a sunflower. Gwen, Miyuki’s mysterious assistant, confides in Reiko that Kujirai B passed away and that Reiko’s existence is temporary. When Hajime confronts Reiko about this revelation, Reiko collapses under Hajime’s assertion that her life is an illusion.
In Episode 4 of “Kowloon Generic Romance”, Miyuki Hebinuma, now a famous pharmaceutical tycoon, along with Gwen, who’s disguised, will be wandering the streets of Kowloon. They find the city’s current condition disconcerting and are particularly troubled by Reiko’s presence. Their attention also falls on Hajime, whose relationship with Reiko stirs their curiosity.
In the meantime, Reiko, Hajime, and Yo Mei are going to have a housewarming party at Oguro’s place. Later on that evening, up on the rooftop, Hajime will light up a cigarette and question Reiko about why the hovering cityscape above Kowloon was shining so brightly, probably hinting at hidden connections between the virtual city and their shared past.
On the 26th of April, 2025, at 11:00 pm (Japan Standard Time), Kowloon Generic Romance Episode 4 is set to be broadcasted. The anime has been consistently adapting eight manga chapters per episode, and Episode 3 encompassed chapters 17 to 24.
