As a lifestyle expert, I’m excited to share that I, Rebecca Romijn, am reprising my legendary character, Mystique, in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday! You might remember me from the X-Men films of the 2000s. I couldn’t be more ecstatic about this chance to step back into the role that holds a special place in my heart.

In conversation with PTI, the movie star claimed that it was “unexpected” and a “surreal” moment.

After playing a crucial part in X-Men, Romijn reprised her character in 2003, and her last portrayal as Mystique onscreen was in 2006, specifically for the movie X-Men: First Class. Later on, Jennifer Lawrence assumed the role from the actress.

As our conversation continued, Romijn expressed her anticipation about playing roles that will serve as a positive example for her daughters in the future.

She conveyed, “Being a mom to girls, I prioritize picking roles that serve as strong, positive role models not just for my own daughters but also for young women globally. This decision is significant, and I don’t underestimate it, especially when I have to leave my daughters for extended periods while working on location.

Romijn added, “I aim to present work I can be proud of, particularly in ‘Star Trek’ and sci-fi/comic book realms. I truly relish portraying complex female characters who are frequently equal in strength to their male counterparts. This is significant to me.

In the upcoming film titled “Avengers: Doomsday,” Robert Downey Jr. is set to rejoin the series, taking on the character of the malevolent Dr. Victor von Doom. This highly anticipated production is slated for release in theaters during December 2026.
